and i think they meant that when a jordanian guy -mostly hamel - goes to usa, he wants to feel ” patriotic ” and a real zalameh so he hang on to the stupid ideas/”taqaleed” which he never actually believed in at first. so he starts to worry about them just too much to trick himself into thinkin that he hasnt change at all , which as we saw is totally wrong with his peircings and such.
